These two are back again on the blog! First, you saw their incredible hiking engagement session, and their wedding day was everything you might imagine from these two smiley people and more—just incredible! I clicked with these two the moment I met them, and I thought their wedding would be a perfect feature for this topic: how to find the right wedding photographer for you.
Your wedding photographer should be someone who has your back and genuinely cares about your wedding day. One of my favorite parts of wedding photography is getting to know each couple and their love story, so I can document each wedding in a way that is completely authentic to the couple. It’s my goal to offer a tailored photography experience depending on each couple’s vision.
When hiring a wedding photographer, you want to look at more than their highlights on Instagram. Wedding photography requires planning, moment anticipation, troubleshooting, patience, flexibility, and more. It requires a Swiss army knife of sorts, so it’s important to ensure your photographer can handle all the different roles and do so in a way that makes your experience even better!
I don’t believe my job starts and ends with photography—I’m here to support you through the whole process. So, beyond the camera, you can count on me to:
I will work with you to craft a FULL wedding day timeline to ensure the day runs smoothly from start to finish. I will consider all moments – big and small – and ensure each is captured beautifully and nothing is missed.
Wedding timelines are often filled to the brim without a second to spare, and that can lead to stress, especially if we run into a minor bump. I always encourage and plan for enough time for the two of you to truly enjoy the experience and just take it all in. You should be able to have a snack, take a moment to breathe, and just be with each other—it all goes by in a flash (pardon the pun).
I’m here to offer recommendations and all the advice! I have 8+ years of industry experience and education to serve you and create the wedding day (and photos!) of your dreams. When you book me, you’ll receive my complete Wedding Guide full of tips and insight to help you prepare along with all of my vendor recommendations.
Wedding planning can be overwhelming. There are so many decisions to make and lots to consider. I’m here to help you sort through each part and serve as a listening ear. On your wedding day, I will support you in any way I can, coordinating with other vendors and keeping your family and friends in the loop to have every detail covered.
If you need me to, I’ll even be the one to stand up to your mother-in-law or tell your grandma she needs to put away her phone during your unplugged ceremony—in the kindest way, of course! I’ve got your back wherever you need me. I want all the best for you on your day, and I don’t want you to compromise anything you want for someone else’s sake. If you need it for your day, I’ll find a way to make it happen.
And finally—but just as importantly—your photographer should be someone you personally click with because you’ll spend your entire wedding day together! You want someone who brings out the best in you and makes you laugh so the two of you feel at ease and confident in front of the lens.
Finding the right photographer for your wedding is so important. Photography is an investment toward your memories and overall experience. When the day is said and done, photos are all you have left to hold and reflect on. Make sure you hire a photographer who captures everything, from the smallest details to the most intimate moments.
