elopement in las vegas

Does an elopement in Las Vegas make you think of drunken nights and Elvis impersonators? Well I can assure you that Drew and Maria’s elopement was very intentional, exquisitely designed, and fake-Elvis-free. Las Vegas elopements aren’t what they used to be—and that’s probably a good thing. Now, thanks to some incredible elopement packages, you can enjoy all that is Las Vegas and have the sophisticated wedding day you’ve always dreamed of. Take a peek inside Drew and Maria’s luxury Las Vegas elopement for inspiration.

Elegant + Sophisticated Las Vegas Elopement

I’ve known these two for years! They’re both brilliant and dedicated doctors, but they still have their penchant for spontaneity and adventure. When Maria and Drew inquired with me about a Sin City elopement, I wasn’t at all surprised, and I was totally elated to help make that happen for them. They are a special couple—one of the most down-to-earth, fun-loving duos I’ve ever met.

While an elopement in Las Vegas should feel spontaneous and fun, you also want the day to go smoothly so you aren’t stressed over the details. Using their elopement as a guide, I’ll walk you through a few things to nail down before you tie the knot.

As a Las Vegas elopement photographer, I’d love to help you customize an elopement package and personalize your wedding day details so it fits your style, budget, and vision. Drop a note here to get started planning your elopement in Las Vegas!

Las Vegas Elopement Checklist

1. Get Your Nevada-Issued Marriage License

You’ll need a Nevada marriage license in order for your marriage to be legal. You’ll need to obtain one from the Clark County Marriage License Bureau at 201 E Clark Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89101 (you can pre-register on their website).

There’s a small fee (you can pay with cash, credit, or check), and you’ll both need to present your driver’s licenses—a passport or social security card will work too.

2. Book Bridal/Groom Suites

First, I recommend booking a bridal suite (and your weekend accommodations) to get ready—this is a good idea for the groom, too. It may be an elopement, but you still deserve the royal treatment! No squeezing into a random tiny dressing room to get ready for the best day of your life! Maria booked elegant bridal suite at the Venetian Hotel.

3. Hire a Hair & Makeup Team

Next, be sure to indulge in a little wedding day pampering. Maria got her glam on to tie the knot—Vegas style—by the lovely and talented team members of Makeup in the 702. With Maria glammed & looking absolutely STUNNING in her wedding gown by Bliss Bridal, it was no surprise that Drew’s reaction during their First Look was an emotional one.

4. Book a Ceremony Site or Reserve a Time Slot

Maybe you want to embrace the true elopement feel by reserving an appointment at an elopement chapel, or maybe you prefer a more traditional and private ceremony at a church. Or, you could even tie the knot with breathtaking views at Red Rock Canyon just outside the city. It’s a good idea to have your ceremony location nailed down and your elopement package, venue, or time slot reserved ahead of time. You just need a licensed officiant and your marriage license for it to be legal.

Drew and Marie chose to do a private wedding vow exchange with their first look. Then, we were off to the ceremony at the most classic Vegas elopement location: A Little White Chapel. In true Las Vegas fashion, the ceremony was short and sweet!

5. Have Fun & Take Photos!

After the ceremony, don’t forget to get couples portraits. (If you’re with me, I won’t let you forget—ha!) You’ll want some non-selfie portraits so you can relive these moments for years to come. And let’s be real, few of us ever end up printing those photos we take on our phones. You won’t regret hiring a professional photographer to document your Las Vegas elopement!

Tying the Knot, Las Vegas Style!

Then, to end the day—and start the night, the newlyweds, along with their closest family and friends, headed to In-N-Out Burger where we had to get some photographs—burgers and fries included!

An intimate reception followed back at the Venetian Hotel. We were even able to sneak away for a few minutes to grab some really cool shots downstairs.

From the heartfelt vows to the cupcakes and shots that ended the night, Maria and Drew’s elopement was a perfect reflection of their relationship because it was true to who they are. Their elopement allowed them to start their new chapter on an epic adventure, completely stress-free. Their Las Vegas elopement totally revolved around their love and devotion to each other, surrounded by their very closest friends and family.
